Intro:
In his lecture, Hinrich Voss will discuss the engagement of Chinese firms in countries that have signed up to the Belt and Road Initiative. He will provide an assessment of Chinese investments in Belt and Road countries at the firm and country level. The firm-level assessment attempts to present theoretically explanations for why Chinese firms invest in these countries and the benefits they seek to reap. The country level assessment discusses the impact Chinese investments have had on the host economy from a dependency perspective.

Hinrich Voss的講座將討論中國(guó)企業(yè)在“一帶一路”倡議簽署國(guó)的參與情況。他將從企業(yè)和國(guó)家兩個(gè)層面，對(duì)中國(guó)在“一帶一路”沿線國(guó)家的投資進(jìn)行評(píng)估。企業(yè)層面的評(píng)估將為中國(guó)企業(yè)在目標(biāo)國(guó)的投資行為和潛在收益提供理論解釋；國(guó)家層面的評(píng)估將從依附論的視角討論中國(guó)投資對(duì)東道國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)的影響。
Speaker biography:
Hinrich Voss (PhD International Business, Leeds) is Professor of International Business at University of Leeds and Associate Editor of Transnational Corporations. He was awarded the JIBS Decade Award for his research on Chinese outward FDI in 2017 and named one of the top 10 researchers on emerging market MNEs in 2016 by Luo et al. (2016).
